The PL1210 and PL1220 are the entry level PacketLogic™ Intelligent Center (PIC) platform models. Based on an industry standard, highly reliable server and storage hardware architecture. The PL1210 PIC platform comes with 16GB Memory and 2 x 1TB hard drives and the PL1220 comes with 32GB memory and 5 x 1TB hard drives storage. Both platforms inter operate with all PacketLogic Real-time Enforcement (PRE) platform models, with the ability to connect to multiple PRE platforms from a single PL1210 or PL1220. PIC platforms are used for the centralized aggregation of network-wide reporting data, and provide fast, efficient analytics reporting about an entire PRE network deployment.

Both PIC platform models connect either directly to the AUX interface of the PRE or remotely to the IP address of the PIC platforms. The most common scenario is for a PIC platform to be connected directly to a PRE system (or two in a redundant setup). Statistics from multiple PREs can be aggregated to one PIC platform, but the dimensioning depends on traffic volume and what volume of data is being stored.
